iSchoolBand Review

iSchoolBand is an amazing online tool geared towards music teachers. Offering a format similar to Facebook, this program allows teachers to keep track of much of the administrative aspects of teaching all in one program. I briefly mentioned this software in a previous article I wrote for MusicEdMajor.Net entitled ,” Join the Web 2.0 Music Classroom” This was an appropriate place for iSchoolBand because it makes many of the administrative tasks completed by music teachers on a daily basis easier, and adds the collaborative nature found in social media. Get ready – the public launch date for the MusicPLN is coming up very soon (Monday, July 19th in fact), and trust me- it’s amazing.

What is the Music PLN?

To put it simply, imagine Facebook and #MusEdChat combined. That, in essence is the MusicPLN. Found at http://musicpln.org this concept was originated from and developed by Dr. Joseph Pisano. I had the privilege of being a beta tester for the site. The MusicPLN is an exceptional opportunity for music educators and future music educators. This is literally a virtual meeting place for music educators to connect and discuss relevant information regarding the world of music education. Complete with groups and forums, the MusicPLN offers many learning opportunities for all involved.
