The 2011 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association Annual State Conference is quickly approaching. This year’s conference will be held at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center from April 14th-16th in Hershy, PA. With sessions spanning various topics including music education, music performance, technology, advocacy, and a variety of exceptional performaces, there is something for everyone at PMEA.

Live-Blogs

FutureMusicEducators.Net is proud to provide a series of live-blogs to cover a majority of sessions at PMEA 2011. A team of undergraduate music education majors from Grove City College (Ryan Dore, Brittany Bell, Elizabeth Heist, Emily Farrel and myself) will be live-blogging particular sessions. So whether you’re at the conference or not, feel free to follow along with and participate in the live-blogs! The content will also be available after the conference. To find the live-blogs and to sign up for an email reminder, check out the PMEA 2011 landing page! Many thanks to Dr. Joeseph Pisano and Grove City College for making internet for these live-blogs possible!

Collaborate

In addition to participation in the PMEA 2011 Live-Blogs, collaborating with other professionals is easy. Many attendees of PMEA 2011 will be tweeting about their experiences at the conference. If you are interested in following along with the general information stream from the conference, follow the hashtag #PMEA11. Tweeting at or about PMEA 2011? Hey Andy! I am SO excited to follow you and your colleagues’ live blogs from PMEA this year! I have a feeling that this will be an extremely successful event, and will be a fantastic extension of the work we did at Music Ed Week last summer and with METOS this past fall. I’ll be blogging about this at MusicEdMajor.net next week in hopes that it sends some of my readers your way! Best of luck; I’ll be following along!

Thanks Andy! This new layout is kind of a combination of what we did at both of those past conferences. We’re hoping this new layout will help to provide a seamless stream of notes from each of the sessions while allowing readers to stay on the same site. It’s just really cool to see how the idea of live-blogging has evolved and continues to evolve. Thanks a lot for your support!
